Eligibility and Requirements

Eligibility

Scholarships will be awarded based on the applicant’s commitment to a career and technical program, grades, extracurricular activities, and financial need. Finalists are subject to personal interviews. To be eligible, a student must:

• Be a citizen or legal permanent resident of the United States.
• Be an HISD student.
• Meet the federal definition of low socio-economic status or be eligible for free or reduced lunch.
• Have achieved a minimum 2.0 Grade Point Average (GPA).
• Complete the FAFSA application and submit SAR (Student Aid Report).
